Agricultural products to the CIS

On 1st September 2016, the CIS will be compulsory to enter information about goods chapters 1-24 (food and agricultural products). It will be the operations in connection with the application of agricultural regulations which, pursuant to Article 23.4 of Regulation (EC) No. 515/97 require the introduction of information into the CIS are those relating to:

  • imports of products from third countries covered by legislation adopted under the common agricultural policy and the special rules adopted with regard to goods resulting from the processing of agricultural products;
  • exports of goods to third countries, subject to the provisions adopted under the common agricultural policy and the special rules adopted with regard to goods resulting from the processing of agricultural products;
  • movement of products subject to legislation adopted under the common agricultural policy and the special rules adopted with regard to goods resulting from the processing of agricultural products covered by common or external transit procedure and operations in which the during the re-export from the Union to third countries are experiencing temporary storage of such products in the Union;
  • movement of goods within the EU are subject to restrictions or prohibitions based on legislation adopted under the common agricultural policy and the special rules adopted with regard to goods resulting from the processing of agricultural products, or to provide assistance to the EU.

This obligation is imposed by Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2016/757 of 3 February 2016 establishing operations in connection with the application of agricultural regulations which require the introduction of information into the Customs Information System.
